A letter from one of Hopewells Students

Hi Mary, everything is okay here, only a few.It had been predicted that there was going to be famine, but later after crusades were held for repentance, the prophet said it is going to rain soon next month. So people were told to prepare their land for planting. All the crops we had planted dried up after rain went.Only Hopewell has food due to irrigation carried on.The food is enough, but kids don’t take home. Some is sold in town.I and my friends buy the vegetables from Barut every evening after school. When school closes they can not be left to go bad,so they are sold before we open. The stoves are doing a good job they make our lunch  ready on time. The tank is okay,it keeps some water when it rains. The library is okay and we have little time to read in,did you send computers? We are not lucky since we are about to go,we only have little knowledge on them.We wishes we had a camera,we would send you photos with Frankline of school progress. The one you gave us can’t develop photos and send easily through internet. It had also been said that there will be
el nino of which most don’t believe. How is Don?He is so quite, greet him very much, tell Mary Anne Stephen said hi,see you, always, good bye[kwaheri].
