The uniforms made by Susan are outstanding. Susan made over 60 uniforms and Soar sent these children on their way to school paying the fees for each.It was the first opportunity for many of them to be able to have a uniform to go to school. I wish we could afford the 4.00 per pair for shoes. We are going to work towards sweaters and shoes next year. Some of these little ones walk over 3 miles to get to a school to attend. The teachers are hired Soar just needs the building fixed to begin a school so it is local to this community. A new building is about 10 thousand, that would be a cement block building. Right now we have had the latrine dug by volunteers and are working on the money to cement and build it. The latrine first, then the school. We have the land, water, supplies, furniture, teachers. The next step is building improvements, eventually a new cement block one. The license comes after its opened and inspected. This will be Soar’s biggest project over the next few years. Monicah and Eunice, former preschool teachers at Hopewell will be the instructors. These woman did an outstanding job. School starts at the age of three and these loving teachers are really Moms and educators. It is wonderful that these two teachers are willing to come the distance to help us out. Judy and Dale Merwin’s successful chicken project will enable this school to begin the day with breakfast and I predict there will not be an absent student all year!!
